Spar Sticker Mania

Loyalty Goals

Spar Austria has approached Nebus to develop a concept that would combine eco-friendliness, social corporate responsibility and education of children, but in such a way that it would still be interesting for children to collect.

Strategy

Based on this question, Nebus developed a sticker book in with Garfield. He traveled through all the rainforests in the world and gave survival tips to the kids (in the typical Garfield tone-of-voice). Each continent was brought to life by beautiful images from the animals, accompanied by background information about them.

To communicate the promotion to their customers, Spar used famous Austrian Mirjam Weichselbraun and made sure that customers were exposed to the promotion through an intense media campaign.

In order to help customers complete their collection, Nebus developed a website that enabled them to trade their doubles for stickers they were still missing. To further increase the number of stickers that customers could obtain, specially colored flow packs (blue instead of green) were offered for sale in the shops.

Results

Spar customers turned into true sticker-hunters during the promotion. Sticker books were an instant hit (with regard to number of sales) and the flow packs containing the stickers were eagerly accepted by almost every eligible customer! Spar was very pleased with the results of the promotion.
